I
receive many questions regarding
handicapping, especially about how to use the numbers when wagering on
horse racing. I decided the absolute best way to do handle
this
was to document one week's worth of play and give my thinking on each
race, whether I decided to bet on the race or not. I
originally
was going to use the Breeder's Cup, but my analysis was already posted
as most have seen, and I will keep that available under the Archives
link. There is no guarantee that this will be a winning week.
I'm
hoping that it will be of course! Either way, what you see is
my
actual betting as well as the thinking behind my decisions, paying
particular attention to the numbers. I do not, however, use
the
numbers as a stand alone tool as you shall see. Many times I
use
the "Odds Line Tool" available for download here. Sometimes
my
play will be obvious, so I may not quote an odds line. 99% of
my
bets will be Win, Win/Place, and/or exactas, as this is my preferred
method of play.

| I
do not wager on
Mondays, and nearly always follow the same schedule. I wager
on
The Meadowlands on Tuesdays, and follow that with Aqueduct and
Hollywood Wednesday through Sunday, but no Hollywood on Friday night as
that is the middle of the night for me. I will also handicap
big
stakes races from around the country, but this week there isn't much to
look at major stakes wise outside of Aqueduct and Hollywood.
I
will provide links on this page to the output files from my program for
each card that I play, with general comments on each horse, as well as
a race wrap-up that will indicate my betting decisions. I
will
finish with the race results, win or lose! Just click on each
link to see each race card in detail. |
