Classic
(Generally, about a 115 will win this)
1. Rock Hard Ten : Scratched. 2. Sun King : Never cracked 110, too slow. 3. Choctaw Nation : Non contender for the win, could hit the board. Good race in last closing into slow fractions, but lifetime best is still 108. Seems to flatten out at races longer than 9f. 4. Oratorio : Bred top and bottom for grass. I don't see why they are trying the dirt, but I guess others could think of 4 million reasons. 5. Perfect Drift : Just not what he used to be, he'll take a lot of sentimental money, none of it mine. 6. Sir Shackelton : No chance, next. 7. Super Frolic : Gotten good, but not good enough to win a race of this caliber. 3rd or 4rth about the best the connections could hope for here. 8. Suave : Another that is just too slow. 9. Flower Alley : If he can rebound to his Travers score, he could be a big factor here, but I don't think he will. 10. Jack Sullivan : Cool name for a horse, not much else to say about him. 11. Borrego : Why does this horse remind me of Aptitude? He's nowhere near that good. I wouldn't be shocked if he won, but he'll be a big underlay. 12. A Bit O' Gold : Wow, the more I look at this race, the more I realize this is the worst field I've seen in the Classic in my 6 years of doing numbers. 13. St Liam : I don't see anything in here that can beat this horse, unless a Euro shipper loves the dirt, which I don't see. Maybe 2-1? 14. Starcraft : Grass miler doesn't seem to fit here. I watched his last workout, and I just don't see it. Summary: St Liam reminds me of Ghostzapper last year, there just aren't any that can run with him. A decent ride, and he'll win for fun. |
