Filly
and Mare Turf
1: Super Brand - Horse hasn't run fast enough to compete with these. 2: Katdogawn - Better than the 1 horse, but not by much. In a bit deep. 3: Film Maker - Nice figures 3 of the last 4 times out, though the "other" was at this 11f distance. Tough to judge, but I think she's a solid contender. 4: Moscow Burning - Last was her best yet, but it still isn't good enough to win a race of this stature. I'll look elsewhere. 5: Ouija Board - Proven at the distance, nice figures from Timeform. I'll avoid her at a short price though. I've seen better Euro horses than her beaten on BC Day, and she comes off of a tough Arc race. Not worth the 8-5 ML. 6: Shaconage - In too deep, just hasn't ever run a race good enought to triumph here. 7: Light Jig - Visually impressive in her last, but the numbers tell the true story. She ran the same mediocre race she always does, and she will be a HUGE underlay...No thanks! 8: Aubonne - Tough trip last time, but figures are improving. Not my top selection, but she'll be on P3 tickets. Surprised she isn't getting Lasix yet. 9: Riskaverse - As steady as they come for a female horse, and steadily good. At 12-1 ML, I'll give her a long look again. She was nice to me last out, so maybe I'm a little biased. 10: Megahertz - Has ability, but I just don't like the long layoff. Even Starine had one prep for Frankel before her winning effort in this race. 11: Yesterday - Seemingly everyone's wiseguy horse in this race. I'm not buying. She looks to be coming to a peak effort, but her peak is a little light for this field. 12: Wonder Again - Always have to give Prado's mounts a long look, but I think this one really likes softer going. If the track turns up soft tomorrow, I'll use her, otherwise, out she goes. Selections: I'll be watching the board and playing exotics with Film Maker, Ouija Board, Aubonne, and Riskaverse, and use those same ones in the P3. I'll be hoping Ouija Board is a little worn out. |
