Distaff

Ashado - This horse may go off favored with the decision to run Azeri in the Classic.  Her two tries at this distance around two turns resulted in a figure of 102 as a 2yo and 116 in the Kentucky Oaks.  Very solid horse.  Last race was just a paid workout, so I'm not going to hold the lowish number against her.  Very tough to beat here in my opinion.

Elloluv - Has really regressed since running 2nd in last year's edition of this race, and even that wasn't that great a race.  Byebyeluv, too slow.

Tamweel - Has yet to crack the 100 mark on my numbers, which leaves her little chance in this field.

Society Selection - Has run some decent numbers at first glance, but a deeper inspection makes me skeptical about this one.  Best races have all come around one turn and/or over an off surface.  Notice in her two efforts at two turn routes, she flopped at odds on at GP.  Throw in Jerkens poor Breeder's Cup record, and I will confidently toss this one.

Nebraska Tornado - Has run some competitive numbers, but they have all been on turf.  She is by Storm Cat, so she could run well on the dirt.  I wouldn't go crazy on this horse, but I will have her on P3 tickets.

Hollywood Story - Still eligible for a NW2 allowance race.  I don't see her winning, but her running style and consistent numbers could find her on the bottom of tris or supers.

Storm Flag Flying - Has never come close to returning to her form as a 2yo, figure wise at least.  Will be an underlay, I'll pass.

Indy Groove - Owner must have been unable to acquire tickets any other way, OUT.

Bare Necessities - If this horse declines much more, we may find her in a claimer.  No chance.

Island Fashion - The wild card in the race.  Back numbers to be a strong contender here.  At first, return looks weak despite winning.  The slow pace may have contributed to the low number, but I'm leaning in the direction that the ill advised trip to Hong Kong has taken something out of her.

Stellar Jayne - Lukas in the Distaff always deserves respect.  All her wins seem to come when she sets a slow pace and holds on late.  I can't envision a slow pace in this race, and the post forces her hand a bit.

Selections:  Ashado to win, Ashado and Nebraska Tornado in P3s
